KyraMinturn Sedgwickwas born on 19th August 1965, is an American actor. Her most well-known role is her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick earned an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. The seventh season of the show was concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995).
