Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4, 1954. She is a comedian actor, writer, and actress. O'Hara has been awarded a variety of awards, including the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. She also received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. She first came to the attention of an actress in 1974, as a member of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. She was part of the main cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) together with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara was a part of Candy on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). She won praise from critics for both her writing and acting skills, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series. O'Hara joined the Second City artistic advisory board in 2022. She was joined by Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert and Tina Fey.
